Steven E. Locke, M.D., DLFAPA
Dr. Locke is a primary care psychiatrist specializing in behavioral telehealth and digital mental health. He is affiliated with Boston’s Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center at Harvard Medical School (HMS) where he was Associate Professor of Psychiatry and taught clinical informatics and technology innovation at HMS and MIT. Currently, Dr. Locke is an industry expert and mentor in the Harvard Innovation Labs.
Dr. Locke has been a national leader and innovator in behavioral medicine and clinical informatics. He is a Past-President of the American Psychosomatic Society, a Distinguished Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and past chair of the Committee on Information Technology of the Massachusetts Medical Society (MMS) where he co-authored the MMS report on the Future of Telemedicine (2021). He is also a seasoned clinician in private practice in Longmeadow, MA and has been recognized as a “Top Doctor” by Boston Magazine and US News and World Report for the past five years.
In 2013, Dr. Locke founded iHope, a behavioral telehealth company specializing in technology-assisted self-care and clinician delivered, computer-guided treatments that integrated behavioral health into primary care, student health, and chronic condition management. Since iHope’s acquisition by Ginger in 2021 (now Headspace Health) he has been assisting early-stage companies specializing in digital mental health by serving on advisory boards, and with product and business development.
